Aron K. Liang

SUMMARY

Aron K. Liang is a trial attorney in the firm’s Walnut Creek office. Mr. Liang handles matters of general and professional liability, including design professional defense, construction litigation, employment litigation, personal injury defense and public entity litigation. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Liang worked for litigation boutique firms that represented clients in a wide range of legal fields, ranging from employment law, business litigation and public entity litigation. Mr. Liang also was an in-house claims litigation counsel for an insurance carrier representing policyholders in personal injury and property damage cases. Mr. Liang has tried numerous cases to verdict both individually and as part of a trial team, achieving successful verdicts for both plaintiffs and defendants.

Mr. Liang graduated from UC College of the Law, San Francisco with his Juris Doctor and has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Washington.

EXPERIENCE

Public Entity v. Vendor Trial Victory:  Mr. Liang represented a city and a county in a jury trial against an information technology company (“IT”) over the city/county’s decision not to select the IT company as a technology vendor. The city/county initially filed claims against the IT company for its involvement in fraudulent transactions which contributed to the decision not to select the IT company as a vendor. The IT company countersued claiming that the city/county had unlawfully violated federal civil rights law by “blackballing” the IT company. The IT company denied any involvement with the fraudulent transactions. After a lengthy, multiweek trial, the jury found in favor of the city/county, dismissing all of the IT company’s claims against the city/county and awarding damages in favor of the city/county.  

Employment Retaliation Trial Victory:  After a five-week jury trial, Mr. Liang obtained a favorable the jury verdict for his clients in an employment retaliation claim and his clients were awarded millions in damages.

Defense Verdict in Motor Vehicle Accident Claiming Traumatic Brain Injury:  Mr. Liang successfully defended his client in a case where plaintiff claimed he had sustained a traumatic brain injury (“TBI”) in a minor rear end accident. Mr. Liang worked with several top medical experts to defend against the claim. After a two-week trial in which Mr. Liang was the sole defense attorney, the jury rejected plaintiff’s TBI claim.
